A CNET roundup published Sept. 30 lists temporary Amazon discounts on three smart-home products ahead of Prime Big Deal Days. The featured prices are $20 for a Kasa outdoor smart plug, $100 for a Ring Floodlight Cam 2K and $67 for a four-pack of Linkind Matter bulbs; availability and prices may change.
CNET reported Amazon discounts on three smart-home products on Sept. 30, ahead of Prime Big Deal Days, including a Ring Floodlight Cam 2K for $100, half its stated $200 regular price. The roundup also lists a Kasa outdoor smart plug for $20 and a four-pack of Linkind Matter bulbs for $67, but says the offers are available for a limited time.
The Kasa outdoor smart plug is listed at $20, down from $26, a 23% discount according to CNET. The report says the TP-Link plug has an IP64 weather-resistant design, 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and app-based scheduling and remote control. CNET describes it as suitable for outdoor lighting and says its experts named it the best overall smart plug of 2026. That assessment is the publication’s judgment, not a product certification.
The Ring Floodlight Cam 2K costs $100, compared with $200, which CNET identifies as a 50% discount and a record-low price. Its listed features include 2K video, motion-activated LED floodlights, color night vision, a 140-degree field of view and two-way audio with noise cancellation. The camera is wired and integrates with Alexa, according to the report.
A four-pack of Linkind Matter smart bulbs is listed at $67, against a stated regular price of $112, for a 40% reduction. CNET says the bulbs offer adjustable white and RGB color lighting, with control through a phone or voice commands. The reported price works out to just over $16 per bulb. The source describes these as Matter bulbs; it does not provide additional detail on supported platforms or setup requirements.
Lower Prices for Smart-Home Upgrades
The discounts give shoppers a chance to compare the cost of outdoor security, lighting control and connected bulbs before a major Amazon shopping event. The camera’s stated half-price offer is the largest percentage reduction in this roundup, while the plug and bulbs cost less than their listed regular prices. For people already considering these products, the prices may affect whether they buy now or wait for Prime Big Deal Days.
The products also serve different needs: the wired Ring camera is aimed at monitoring outdoor areas, while the Kasa plug can remotely control compatible equipment and the bulbs offer changes in brightness and color. These functions are product features reported by CNET; buyers should check compatibility, installation needs and current listing details before purchasing. A discount alone does not establish that a product suits every home or represents the best available price.

Early Offers Before Prime Big Deal Days
CNET’s report, dated Sept. 30, 2026, frames these offers as early discounts available ahead of Prime Big Deal Days. It says its staff tracks Amazon technology and home-product prices and selects deals it considers worth highlighting. That makes this a deal roundup, not an announcement from Amazon about the event itself.
The article provides a stated regular price and a sale price for each featured product, but does not give a price-history chart or explain how long it tracked each item. It also says the Kasa plug’s $20 price is $3 above its all-time low, while describing the Ring camera’s $100 price as a record low. Those historical price characterizations are attributed to the CNET report.

Prices and Stock May Change
The report does not specify an end time for any offer, how many units are available, or whether the discounts apply to all shoppers. Amazon prices, stock and eligibility can change, so the listed figures should be treated as the prices CNET reported on Sept. 30 rather than guaranteed current prices. The source does not provide direct product-listing links or details about shipping, taxes, membership conditions or regional availability.
It is also unclear whether Amazon will repeat or improve these prices during Prime Big Deal Days. CNET’s descriptions of record-low pricing and product quality are its own assessments; the report does not include independent testing results for these specific sale listings or a comparison with other retailers.
Check Listings Before Buying
Shoppers interested in the products will need to check Amazon’s current listings for live prices, availability and purchase terms. The discounts are described as limited-time offers, but CNET does not state a specific expiration date. Any change to the offers, including a return to regular pricing or a stock shortage, would depend on the retailer’s listings.
Prime Big Deal Days are described as approaching, but this source does not give event dates or confirm what other products will be discounted. Readers can compare the listed sale prices with their own requirements and check device compatibility before deciding whether to buy ahead of the event or wait.
